Plasmonics and nanophotonics

Group leader: Zoran Jakšić

The group performs research in electromagnetic optics of micro and nanostructures, which includes plasmonic structures, optical metamaterials, photonic crystals and other wubwavelength and mesoscopic optical structures. The main purpose of this research is the use of these structures for chemical, biochemical and biological sensors, but targeted applications include different other structures and systems whose performances can be enhanced by extreme localization and concentration of electromagnetic waves, like photocatalytic microreactors, photodetectors, etc.
