Visit of the experts from the Netherlands

In the period 12. – 17. September 2011. it was our honour and pleasure to host the delegation of the distinguished scientists from Technology and Materials Laboratory Delft University of Technology/DIMES, The Netherlands:

This visit has been organized in collaboration with the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA). Following activities were accomplished during the visit of scientists from the Netherlands:

In the period 12.09. – 14.09. Dr. Luigi Mele held a training course at the wafer bonding system Wafer-Bonder AML-AWB, acquired during REGMINA project.
On 15.09. and 16.09. experts from the Netherlands held the following lectures in the building of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA):

Visit to ICTM-CMTM laboratories was organized during which our guests were informed about the main achievements of our Centre, our technological possibilities, ongoing research activities and the most advanced sensors and transmitters we have developed so far.
Two meetings were held, at ICTM-CMTM and at SASA, in order to discuss possibilities of collaboration between the hosting institute and Delft University of Technology/DIMES.
A sightseeing tour of the central region of Serbia, Šumadija, including Topola, Oplenac, Royal vineyards and Arandjelovac was organized for our guests.

Two meetings were held in order to discuss possibilities of collaboration between the hosting institute and IMEL/NCSR “Demokritos” and T.E.I. of Athens
A sightseeing walking tour through Belgrade fortress and Kalemegdan park was organized for our guests.

Conclusions on the accomplishment of the REGMINA project objectives:
During the first part of the meeting, Dr. Zoran Djurić presented conclusions on the accomplishment of the REGMINA project objectives. Participants in the meeting agreed on the final conclusion stating that all the most important objectives of the project REGMINA have been achieved:
All equipment specified in the project was purchased. This equipment has been carefully selected to properly fit into our existing MEMS-NEMS technological cycles. Specialization and training of our associates in the field of MEMS-NEMS technologies was performed in the known European laboratories (Delft, EPFL, DESY, IMEL). From the seven young associates engaged in the project REGMINA five are included in national project to be funded over the next four years. This has led to a little bit less, the brain drain. Dissemination of project results is done through publishing research, holding workshops, website presentations, etc. In this way we have made an important step towards entry into the EU scientific community for MEMS and NEMS technologies. At the same time we have opened many more opportunities to use these technologies in our country. Thanks to the new equipment and well trained personnel we are now capable of providing scientific services to international and EU research community which increases visibility and impact of ICTM-CMTM, which was one of the main REGMINA objectives.
Discussion on potential future collaborations:
The second part of the meeting was dedicated for discussion on various ways of potential future collaborations between the scientific institutions represented by the participants at the meeting.

Second workshop on MEMS and NEMS technologies

Second workshop sessions were held from 18th to 20th April, 2011 in Belgrade, in the building of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Belgrade, Serbia. This workshop was organized by the Center for Microelectronic Technologies and Single Crystals (CMTM), a department of the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy (ICTM), University of Belgrade, in collaboration with the networking partners of REGMINA project.

First workshop on MEMS and NEMS technologies

On the 4th and 5th June, 2009 workshop on MEMS and NEMS technologies was held at SANU (Serbian academy of sciences and arts) Belgrade, Serbia. This workshop was organized by the Center for Microelectronic Technologies and Single Crystals (CMTM), a department of the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy (ICTM), University of Belgrade, in collaboration with the networking partners of REGMINA project.

Open Day (EPS) 2008
On 5th August, 2008 Open Day was held at Electric Power industry of Serbia (EPS). The objective of the Open Day was to explain to our colleagues and partners from the Electric Power Industry of Serbia the research potential, the technological capabilities and the production possibilities of ICTM-CMTM. Especially emphasized was the success in development and realization of the intelligent industrial pressure transmitter, the unique product in Serbia and in the surrounding countries. The product is entirely developed at ICTM-CMTM and it is based on the proprietary silicon piezoresistive sensors. The development was partially funded by the Serbian ministry of Science and Technology and also by the Electric Power Industry of Serbia.

Visit of Minister of Science and exhibition at the
ICTM-CMTM

Ministry of Science has organized a visit to the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy and all of its belonging centers on 5th of June 2009. On that occasion REGMINA project was introduced to the minister of science Božidar Djelić and the purchased equipment was presented. An exhibition of the facilities was also organized by Prof. Dr. Zoran Djurić and Prof. Dr. Miloljub Smiljanić.
